Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This policy describes how Data Science India (datascienceindia.com), an independent educational platform focused on data science, machine learning, and AI, handles personal information. We operate from India. There is no separate registered company name published on this site yet; for privacy requests use the contacts below.

We aim to follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law. This page is an explanation of our practices, not legal advice.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may process:

We do not run advertising pixels. We use Google Analytics 4 for site measurement only.

Why we use it

Cookies and sessions

We use cookies (and equivalent storage) for authentication so you stay signed in across pages. These are required for accounts and course access; they are not used for ads. Google Analytics may also set cookies to measure visits. You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in and enrolled lessons will not work without the authentication cookies.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal data. We use processors to run the product:

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the platform and other users.

Retention

We keep account and enrollment data while your account is active, and newsletter data until you unsubscribe (and for a short period after, to honour opt-outs). Contact messages are kept long enough to respond and for basic records. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw newsletter consent, and raise a grievance. Email hello@datascienceindia.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have rights under the DPDP Act, including approaching the Data Protection Board of India where applicable.

Newsletter unsubscribe links are included in those emails. You can also manage your account after signing in.

Children

Some material (for example Python for teens) is written for younger learners, but accounts and the newsletter are intended for users who can form a contract, or whose parent or guardian creates and supervises the account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without that supervision. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

The site is aimed at learners in India. If you visit from elsewhere, your data may be processed in India and in the countries where our processors operate.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top is the latest revision.
